“The BIDMC Fellowship in Disaster Medicine announces a new rotation for fellows at the Tianjin Association for Disaster Medicine (TADM) in Tianjin, China. This rotation will be directed by fellowship faculty member Dr. Haojun Fan, M.D., Ph.D., the Deputy Director of the Institute of Disaster & Emergency Rescue Medicine, The Chinese People’s Armed Police Force (PAPF). The fellows will have a chance to spend two weeks working in the TADM and learning from one of the most experienced field disaster operations organization in the world.
Dr. Ciottone said: “We are thrilled to open a new partnership with the Tianjin Association for Disaster Medicine and rotation for our fellows in Tianjin under the direction of Dr. Haojun Fan. There are few organizations in the world with as much experience in field Disaster Medicine as the TADM. They have deployed to countless disasters over many years, including the tsunami in Indonesia (2004), earthquake in Pakistan (2005), wildfires in the Greater Hinggan Mountains (2006), earthquake in Wenchuan (2008), earthquake in Haiti (2010), earthquake in Yushu (2010), earthquake in Ya’an (2013) and Tianjin explosions (2015), to name a few. We will also be hosting members of the TADM here in Boston for educational exchanges with our fellowship program. We look forward to a long and productive partnership with the Tianjin Association for Disaster Medicine.”
