Dr Wael Al-Husami joins BIDMC Fellowship in Disaster Medicine as a core faculty

The BIDMC Fellowship in Disaster Medicine is pleased to announce the addition of Dr Wael Al-Husami to the faculty. Wael Al-Husami, MD, has more than 20 years of experience in the medical field as a physician, executive and teacher. He is an interventional cardiologist, Medical Director of International Health and a senior member of the executive health team for Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, a nonprofit, physician-led academic medical center in Burlington, Mass. In addition, he is an assistant professor at Tufts University School of Medicine and a faculty member at Brown University’s Alpert Medical School. He is also a Visiting Professor of Medicine to the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland.

Dr Ciottone said “We are happy to have Dr Al-Husami join our fellowship faculty. He brings a wealth of experience in international medicine, particularly in the care of refugees from conflict zones. He will greatly enhance the fellows’ educational experience.”
