Dr. Badr S. Al Otaibi, a Saudi national who was born on 29th of January 1979 in Tabouk, Saudi Arabia. Dr. Al Otaibi is a Consultant in Emergency Medicine that specializes in Emergency Medical Services and Disaster Operation Medicine. Over the past decade, Dr. Al Otaibi has been exposed to variety of his professional capacity as a physician specifically in government hospitals of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Before reaching his success an emergency physician, Dr. Al Otaibi has gone through significant trainings which enhanced his ability in his field of specialty. He earned his Fellowship in EMS/Disaster Operation and Medicine in Harvard Medical School of Boston, MA, USA in 2011.
Currently, Dr. Al Otaibi has been appointed as the Chairman of Department of Emergency Medical Services in King Fahad Medical City while leading the Committee of Disaster Management. As part of his leadership preparations, he was selected to be the Director of Saudi Emergency Residency Training Program on 2011 until 2013 which he showed significant success and major improvements in Saudi resident physicians’ training.
Dr. Al Otaibi has completed researches namely; CO Poisoning Among Hookah Smokers, Health Assessment of Haitian Children One Year after 2010 Earthquake (2011) and Analysis of Disasters by Type and Mortality during the Hajj . In addition, he is affiliated with international associations such as College of Emergency Medicine UK (MCEM), American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), Advancing Emergency Care and Disaster Medicine Section.
His experience as one of the team members of Medical Relief to Haiti Earthquake in 2011 has helped 500 children for treatment and medical aid. Just recently, he is participated as a Team Leader for Medical Transportation team of Mr. Khalid Mohsin Shaeri, a 1,345 pound-Saudi guy who was scheduled for operation in King Fahad Medical City last August 2013.
Dr. Al Otaibi’s continuous goal as an emergency physician is to provide the highest standard of emergency care to all patients on a safe, evidence-based and timely manner.
