Brief Biography:

My name is Prasit Wuthisuthimethawee. I am a certified emergency physician from Royal College of Physician of Thailand and certified trauma surgeon from Royal Australasian College of Surgeon. I had certification of ATLS instructor (American College of Surgeon), ACLS (American Heart Association), DSTC (International Association for Trauma and Surgical Intensive Care: IATSIC)
I am consultant and attending physician in department of emergency medicine, Sonklanagarind hospital, 850 beds tertiary care, level I trauma center, university-based hospital in southern part of Thailand. The emergency department taking care for 52,000 patients annually with 20% traumatic cases. The hospital also receiving patients from terrorist events from Deep South areas of Thailand.

I had experience in different mass casualties and disasters e.g. terrorist bombing in Hatyai city, tsunami 2004 in Thailand, multiple bus and train accidents, multiple floods in Hatyai and major floods in Bangkok, Thailand 2011. I had been working in department of surgery in Singapore University Hospital (NUH), Singapore in 2004 and Miyazaki University Hospital, Miyazaki, Japan in 2008 and attending trauma surgery fellowship program at the Alfred Hospital, Melbourne, Australia in 2011.

I joined the Disaster Medicine and Emergency Management fellowship program at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC), Harvard University from December 2012 to December 2013. I got a lot of experiences from the program e.g. Haiti, Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), EMS systems (Boston, New York Fire Department, Torino, Dublin and Iceland.

I am interesting in disaster preparedness for mass gathering, mass casualty, man-made and natural disasters and EMS system development and education.

I published several literatures in surgery, emergency medicine and recently doing several researches in disaster medicine and surgery.

Recently I am working as a chief of department and attending physician in department of emergency medicine. My propose is developing mass casualty and disaster planning and preparedness, training and education programs in disaster medicine in all levels.
