Chief, Emergency Department

Dr. Sayah is the Chief of Emergency Medicine at Cambridge Health Alliance. He received his MD from the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, completed his residency in emergency medicine at William Beaumont Hospital in Michigan, and prior to coming to Cambridge Health Alliance, served in many leadership roles in area hospitals including as Director of EMS for Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Associate Chief for the Department of Emergency Medicine at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, and most recently as Chairman of Department of Emergency Medicine at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center.
In addition to serving as Chief of the Emergency Medicine, Dr. Sayah also serves as the Cambridge Health Alliance Chairman of the Chiefs Council, Cambridge Health Alliance Medical Staff President, and Faculty at Harvard Medical School and Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Sayah’s research and publications are focused on Emergency Department Operation, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) including design of the EMS system, continuous quality improvement, advanced directives, violence and weapons, disaster planning, and pre-hospital thrombolytics.
Dr. Sayah has received numerous awards including the President’s Award from the Massachusets College of Emergency Physicians, Vanguard Award from the Massachusetts College of Emergency Physician, EMS Physician of the Year Award from the Metropolitan Boston EMS Council, and Young Investigator Award from the Emergency Medicine Foundation.
