Retired Colonel Michael W. Smith, the former Director of the National Disaster Medical System (NDMS), is joining our fellowship faculty!!

The BIDMC Fellowship in Disaster Medicine is thrilled to announce Retired Colonel Michael W. Smith, the former Director of the National Disaster Medical System (NDMS), will be joining our fellowship faculty!!

Mr. Smith has played a pivotal role in safeguarding the United States in times of crisis. As the Director of NDMS he supported the national pandemic response efforts, multiple national special security events, and deployed medical response teams to natural disasters as part of the National Response Plan.

We are honored to have him join our fellowship family!
